“Well …”

You stammer for a bit. The truth is, you don’t feel like explaining yourself to the man on your phone anymore.

It’s not like you’re an irresponsible developer. It’s just that the deadlines are so tight … and your boss is paying good money for QA Analysts …

You hear a dial tone. What happened to the Lawrence-Fishburne impersonator?

Your door slams open. A young man is running up behind you. He’s carrying a laptop on his right palm like a serving tray. He looks to be no older than 16, with all the pimples on his chin to match.

But the young man is not 16. He’s a colleague of yours, someone you know all too well.

“What do you want, Jimmy?” you grumble beneath your breath. How the hell did he find me? Shouldn’t he be working from home or something?

Jimmy adjusts his spectacles and gasps. “I found a bug in your code.”

You throw up your hands. “Fine! File a bug report! I’ll get to it this afternoon.”
